New Beach Facilities for the Disabled

The Greek government has announced a country wide program to install facilities and equipment to help people with special needs gain access to beaches and the sea.

The budget set aside for the program will be 5 million euro, with a cap of 60,000 euro per installation. Island and coastal municipalities will be the beneficiaries of the program with a limit of four installations per municipality.

The installation of the facilities and auxiliary equipment will not be completed until summer 2018, with the competition for contractors to open officially on Monday and conducted through the Ministry of Economy and Development.
