Refugee Numbers Dramatically Reduced, Kos

sea patrolDue to the intervention of the Turkish government and a greater number of patrols in the sea between the Turkish mainland and Kos, the number of refugees landing on the island has almost reached zero.

Thankfully, this has also dramatically reduced, if not terminated, the horrendous loss of life that has been witnessed in the seas around Kos during this ongoing crisis.

Only 157 refugees are now registered on the island, with the majority of the 54,000 known to be in the country, being located near the borders in northern Greece.
